GMail bug ? ...

Take a look at the following image ...

gmail-number-of-mails

The first line of the image "1-20 of hundreds" indicates that there could be hundreds of messages.

When I do click on the "older" link in the gmail window for getting older messages, it now says "21-40 of thousands".

Doesn't that appear strange ?

Arguably, thousands can also be mentioned in terms of hundreds, but I don't think that's an acceptable argument here. Anyone knows if this is a known "bug" and has already been reported ?
