An interesting view on why everything shouldn't be open ...

Given that I work for a company that has around 80% of the Internet routing market and doesn't keep the source open, I couldn't agree less. There could be contributions from us to the various open source stuff that someone could be using in the process of going where we are, but opening up what we have for everyone else will simply render us incompetitive in the long run.

That's why and how Cisco and M$ exist :) Others may chose to disagree ;-)
