Bharti Tele Ventures (BTV) : $1billion+ Indian company rocks the world in outsourcing ...

BusinessWorld India has a fantastic cover page story on how Bharti has outsourced it's "core" (network management and IT services) to global giants like IBM, Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens and is waiting to reap the rewards.

Sunil Mittal, CEO of BTV, is featured as "The man who gave away his network".

This outsourcing initiative is being watched closely by at least 16 major global telecom operators and everyone's waiting with bated breath. Sunil is happy, at the moment.

For the record, Bharti is the biggest private telecom operator in India. They recently unified their products under the name of Airtel.

And, these are the guys from whom I'm taking my broadband (64kbps!!!) DSL connection.
